The Script Live in Manila 2015

18 April 2015

Omg! I'm so excited to write this blog because it's about "The Script Live in Manila 2015" concert yesterday! Wohooo! I still have the "Post concert hangover", even though 24 hours has already passed. I was so happy I got to watch The Script concert last night because it's my first time to see them live! And they are my favorite band of all time. This was truly one of the best moments in my life that i will never forget and I would like to share this wonderful moment to you.

Mall of Asia Arena -venue for The Script Live in Manila 2015
It was around 8:00 pm when we get in to the arena, it was so huge and a lot of people are there i think it was at least 20,000 people This was the 3rd time that the script visited Philippines to perform a concert for their "No Sound Without Silence tour. Their first concert in the Philippines was held at the Araneta coliseum, second was still at araneta and now at Mall of Asia arena.

The MOA crowd
The first band to perform is a local Filipino band during my High School days named "silent sanctuary" they played OPM music and they are really unique and talented.

Then after 3 sets of their songs finally the one we've been waiting for has finally arrived it's The Script!

The venue looks good and all set for the concert
Their opening number was really "the bomb" they have this green flag waving and the crowd went wild when Danny O'Donoghue, The Script's lead vocalist/frontman appeared from the mass of crowd and followed by Mark Sheehan, guitarist and Glen Powers, drummer. The first song they played was "Paint the town Green" from their latest Album No Sound Without Silence. It was really awesome and I had goosebumps during that time! The crowd was very energetic and alive.

The second song they performed was "Hail, Rain or Sunshine".

Then right after that they performed "Superheroes" as the fifth song which is also from their latest album "No Sound Without Silence". As they performed i can tell that they have this kind of connection to the audiences.

The sixth song they performed was also one of my favorite song "If you could see me now". It was also one of my favorite song from them. I almost got emotional last night at their concert because of the genuine bliss that I felt while singing with them.

"I still look for your face in the crowd oh if you could see me now♩ ♪ ♫ ♬"

The next song they performed was "Man on the wire" it's also from their latest album "No sound without silence". They also showed the audiences some snapshots and behind the scenes from the music video "Man on the wire". They told us that it was not video edited or there's no green screen involved but they just let it happen and it's "one for the books".They also told us the meaning of the song it's not about the man on a wire but it's about "courage" or "conquering your fears" if they did it to conquer their fears of height we can also do it.

Then the band decided to do their fans request like what they did before in their previous concert. Danny asked one girl from audience to call her ex boyfriend on her phone. After Dialing her ex, Danny took her phone and talked to her ex. Then the band started playing the song while the ex was on the phone. After Finishing the song, Danny told the ex that he was an asshole. -epic

That moment when a fan handed her phone to Danny and called her ex boyfriend, then sang "Nothing". And guess what? Danny did the best way to end that phone call. Goodnight Asshole! -Danny O'Donoghue

Then they played "Good ol days" as their 9th song.

Next they surprised fans by going to that little stage in the middle of the arena. OMG! then they sang "Never seen anything quite like you". Danny played the piano in the first part of this song too! I am so close to sobbing because it was so beautiful.

One hell of a night.

"It's very rare to get so many people under one roof. That's the power of music. You Filipino People just love music!" - Danny O'Donoghue

Danny remarks before the band burst into this acoustic rendition of the "Man who can't be moved" in last night's concert.

EPIC. I was too busy feeling every moment as they sing that I did'nt get a chance to take much clearer photo.
This was the part when they played an acoustic version of the "Man who can't be moved". I am really happy they played most of my top favorites last night. Listening and singing along to it felt like a trip to a memory lane. So nostalgic! Plus the energetic crowd! I grew even more in love with this band.

Next song was "It's not right for you". After Singing that song, Danny said Thank you and goodnight . I really thought that the night was over and I felt sad but then after a long time of audience singing more to the tune of it's not right for you they finally came back to the stage and finished the whole song for us and played more songs.

Before they performed their last song for their encore, The Script especially asked us to stop it with our phones. That, in the mean time, there would be no taking of photos or videos, or checking our social media accounts. They asked us instead to turn the flashlights of our phones and hold these up in the air while singing with them. The MOA arena audience, a mob previously covered in darkness, then started lighting up like fireflies swarming around on a summer night.

They end up the night with their song "Hall of fame". It was really a night to remember. I will treasure this experience forever.

"It was something that we'll remember for the rest of our lives, something that we can take to heaven with us, something we won't forget, you can't get those things if you stay on your phone. So for this one song, just live in the moment, yeah?" -Danny O'Donoghue

Danny's message was so beautiful that I almost burst into tears...

The final vow for their No Sound Without Silence Tour
"It's a big honor to be back! You made us feel like we're the biggest band in the world, you gave us the best 8 years of our lives". -The Script.

"Guys, we have no idea how much to thank you for such an incredible night that you have given us a good time. All that we gotta do is keep doing what we do to make music to the world. I promise you it'll not be 2 years before we back again. -The Script
