WHAT IS KETOGENIC DIET?

The ketogenic diet is a high-fat, adequate-protein, low-carbohydrate diet that in medicine is used mainly to treat hard-to-control epilepsy in children. The diet forces the body to burn fats rather than carbohydrates. Wikipedia

HOW DOES KETOGENIC DIET WORK FOR WEIGHTLOSS?



SIMPLE EXPLANATION

For people who eat high-carbohydrates food, the body uses the carbohydrates to convert into energy and the fats will remain stored in the body,

For people who eat high-fat food and has almost zero carbohydrates in their body, the body uses stored fats to convert into energy. That's how people doing the ketogenic diet lose weight.



WHAT FOOD CAN I EAT OR SHOULD I AVOID IN KETO DIET?

VEGETABLES



Based from the illustration above, you can eat those vegetables that are listed on the upper part. those are the allowed vegetables in keto diet. As for the illustration in the middle part try to eat it as little as possible, And avoid eating the vegetables listed on the lower part of the picture because those vegetables contain high amount of carbohydrates and will kick you out of ketosis.
